Historical Background

Tamar's House was founded in the fall of 2004 by the President of RMC Ministries, Inc, Renae McMillan, a survivor of childhood sexual abuse.  After over 20 years of silence, the Lord gave her a vision to start a ministry that ministers to survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

He led her to 2 Samuel 13:20, the story of King David's daughter Princess Tamar, who was a survivor of childhood sexual abuse.  Unfortunately, Princess Tamar's story ended like so many survivors with silence and shame, which led to desolation.

The primary purpose of Tamar's House is to break the silence and to bring survivors to Jesus Christ for restoration and healing.  The name Tamar means palm in Hebrew, which was used as a sign of victory.  Therefore, our desire is to guide survivors into a victorious life in Jesus Christ.
